How are the Winners Determined?
Cars from each Den are raced against each other in "heats". Every car races in six heats, once in each of the six lanes. After each heat, the time for each car is fed from the finish line sensors to the RaceTender® software on the computer. When all heats for a Den have been run, the software calculates the best, worst, and average time for each car. A car's average time determines its place in the
Den's standings. The top three cars in each Den move on to the Pack race, which is run and scored in the same manner. Trophies are awarded to cars in the top three places in each Den, the top three places in the Pack race, the top place in the
Open Race (primarily for parents and siblings), and the "most original" car, as voted by those in attendance.
